What functionality is added to your site by using PHP, Perl and MySQL which is otherwise not available?

What features are added to your site using these technologies which are otherwise not possible?

Dynamic versus Static. Once you understand you will be a better person.

From a users perspective, NOTHING. All the user wants is content.

From the Administrators perspective, using PHP, ASP, MySQL, whatever dynamic database or delivery method, dynamic totally blows STATIC away.

Think about it like this. If eBay were a Static website it would consist of about 1,000,000,000,000 web pages. Theoretically, being Dynamic (database driven,) ebay could be running on ONE WEB PAGE.

Users don't care how much work YOU do to deliver the content, but Administrators need Dynamic sites so they can manage the data. Imagine trying to manage a TRILLION web pages? Impossible.

It's hard to explain, but I hope you get a littel closer to it as once you do understand an entire world of understanding will open up before you.
