What is the Perl file extension in mac?

I have a pc and I run a perl script by naming the .txt file a .pl file so active perl opens the script in windows. My friend has a mac. He downloaded the mac version of perl. I need to know the file extension in mac to change the .pl file so my friend can execute this script. He said the .pl extension opened up an adobe go live action on his mac. Thanks !!!!
