i was trying to install socket6 needed for net::DNS but in win 2k3 it just is not able to find some ".lib" files?

The Socket6 module is just some Perl code (and documentation) to let you use C code from your Perl code.
The best (read "simplest") bet is to use the cpan program. Since Socket6 is written in a different language, you will need a compiler for that language.

If you do not have a C compiler, you should get a newer version of perl as Socket6 is a standard module and you probably want several other standard modules that are not available for your setup.
Reply:Its in built...i think what you hav is older version. Try to install newer verion of perl
